雛祭り（ひなまつり）Peach Festival（Hinamaturi）
3月３日はひな祭り、「桃の節句」、「弥生の節句」ともいわれる、女の子の美しい成長と幸福を願うものです。ひな祭りの由来、お祝いの方法、ひな人形の飾り方、ひな祭りにいただくお菓子やお料理の意味についても、調べてみました。

桃の花、ひし餅、白酒の意味
ひな飾りにはひし餅と桃の花を添え、白酒で祝いますが、これにも意味があります。ひし餅はひし形になっていますが、これは心臓を表すとも、桃の葉を表すともいわれています。ひし餅の色の白は雪、赤は花、青は若草、黄色は紅葉を意味し、四季を表現しているのです。桃の花は、中国では長寿のシンボルとされています。門にさしておくと邪気を払うという言い伝えから、祝い花として使われるようになりました。飲み物は、以前は桃の花を刻んで入れた「桃花酒」が用いられていました。白酒はその名残りです。
Hina decorations are celebrated with white sake with hina mochi and peach blossoms, which are also meaningful.Hishimochi is shaped like a diamond, which is said to represent the heart or peach leaves.The white color of Hishimochi means snow, red means flowers, blue means young grass, and yellow means autumn leaves, expressing the four seasons.Peach flowers are considered a symbol of longevity in China.It was used as a celebratory flower because of the tradition that if you leave it at the gate, you will get rid of evil spirits.The drink used to be “Momohana-shu” made from chopped peach blossoms.White sake is a remnant of that.
ひな人形はいつ出していつしまう？
ひな人形は立春を過ぎた頃から2月中旬、特に18日（雨水の日）がいいとされ、遅くとも3月3日の一週間前には飾りつけ、3日を過ぎたら早めに片づけるのが一般的良いとされます。
Hina dolls are said to be good from the beginning of spring to the middle of February, especially on the 18th (rainwater day「Usui no hi」）, and it is generally good to decorate them one week before March 3rd at the latest and clean them up early after three days.
